Nick Willis is through to the final! He has managed to avoid the numerous trips that others have been involved in, including his friend Nathan Brennan, who tripped in Nick’s semi-final. He has looked comfortable in both the first round and the semi-final, and looks set to run a great final.
However, Nick will not have the final all his own way. In his race, he has all three Kenyans, who are faster than he is. There will no doubt be a lot more pushing and fighting for position. And then there is the final sprint.
This is what we call an Olympic 1500m final. The race will be on both Prime and isky at 8:15 tomorrow morning. So make sure you are near a tv. This may be New Zealands only chance at an Olympic Track and Field gold. It is all very exciting. Go for gold Kiwi!
In Koru, we wanted to show our support for Nick, so we sent him a video of the children wishing him all the best…. It's awesome.
What a great Video, Koru Hub! I love it! I am sure that Nick will be thrilled receiving it and I have no doubt that it will help him to "run really quick". He says that he is really amazed at ALL the support he is receiving. Go Nick!
