ArtSplash

A real treat

It was such a privilege and a treat to attend the Artsplash performance at the Michael Fowler Centre on Wednesday night where our year 3 – 6 students performed along with many students from other Wellington Schools in a mass choir.

What an opportunity for our students to sing with a live orchestra and to be part of an event which celebrated the arts in such a lively way!

Our students looked great on the night and enjoyed the opportunity to be part of such a wonderful occasion. Big thanks to Naomi (our music teacher), Fiona and Urs for all their work in making Amesbury School’s involvement in this possible.

One of the highlights of the evening
was the performance by a young student who played the electric guitar and belted out “Somebody to Love”. It made me very glad that we have just purchased an electric guitar, a bass guitar as well as a number of other pieces of musical equipment to support the development of our own Amesbury School Band.

See below video footage of several of the songs sung by the choir.

Thanks to Nikki Thomas for sharing her photographs with us.
