Students Present To Parliamentary Select Committee

Last Wednesday it was with HUGE pride that Tara and I watched three Amesbury School students present to the Select Committee that is hearing the submissions for the Parliamentary Inquiry into 21st Century Learning. Jasmine Bunting, Samuel Harlen and Sharvi Dev showed nothing but complete composure as they sat before Members of Parliament and shared their views on 21st Century Learning. They handled the questions by the MPs with confidence and delighted them with the clarity and thoughtfulness of their answers. They were outstanding. I particularly loved the vocabulary they used. Amazing!

The MPs were visibly impressed with the students' responses and one MP asked for permission to use a quote from a student on her Facebook page.

This was a very exciting opportunity for our students to be involved in the democratic process and to contribute to the future development of education in New Zealand.

Well done, Jasmine, Samuel and Sharvi. You made us so proud!
