Binstallations - art installations on our bins

I was taking a principal and senior leaders from a school in Wanganui on a tour of our school on Friday during electives time and I was very proud of the things that were happening. Amesbury School looked like an exciting place to be! I was very impressed with the careful work of the butterfly garden group as they worked on their mosaic (see photo below) and I look forward to seeing the finished garden. However, I was particularly taken by "binstallations", which the group finished and installed on our now obsolete rubbish bins. What a great way to bring art into the outdoors! Michael was saying that the students went out and looked at the environment within which each particular rubbish bin is placed and then designed an installation that fitted the surroundings.

When you are out and about look at the "binstallations" and notice how they work with their surroundings. Great work Mike, Matt and group. Thanks for making our environment more interesting.
