Amesbury Ferns - Post match report Championship Round 2

Another beautiful Wellington morning on Saturday made for perfect playing conditions for netball.  We faced the Khandallah Supernovas for the third time - leading the head to head battles pre-game 2-0 we were heading for a hat-trick.  The Amesbury Ferns started well in the first quarter racing ahead to a 3-0 lead.  Hannah started off well in the shooting circle, converting her first three attempts to points.  The team on attack were much improved this week, spreading out across the court more and some quick passing down the court too.  Some great work by Melanie on attack and defence, working hard as always.  The girls have all improved with their positioning, footwork and defence - great to see.  The Ferns went into half time with a 4-1 lead and managed to battle out the second half to take the game 5-2.  Well done girls!

Player of the Day went to Kali for her great work at Goal Attack - as always Kali gives 110% and it was great to see you get a goal Kali, well deserved.  Magic Moment this week went to Emily who used a variety of different passes effectively on Saturday, especially the bounce pass which she used perfectly on a few occasions.

Three games left for the season, the next one on Saturday 17 August - draw not out yet but will email with playing time as soon as it's up.

Captain this week will be Kali.

Enjoy the rest of the week and see you Friday.
