Amesbury Ferns Post Match Report - Championship Round 3

Only two games to go!!

As the season draws to an end it was another tough match for the Amesbury ferns on Saturday 17 August.  They were up against the Johnsonville Royals again, having lost to them in the previous encounter.  The girls were fired up for the game and their performance on court did not disappoint.

It was a tight match in which the Amesbury Ferns trailed until Phoebe slotted a long goal right on the half time bell to even the score. The teams were evenly matched and the ferns were solid on defence as always.  Parents watched nervously courtside as we trailed heading into the last quarter, managing to even the score at 4-4 with minutes to go to come away with a hard fought draw.

It was a great match to watch.  The Johnsonville team were much improved and the Ferns did well to compete and stop them from taking the win.

Player of the Day went to Sharmani in just her third netball match! Sharmani was awesome at wing defence, focussed on every pass and getting several intercepts as a result.  Magic Moment of the day went to Ella for her efforts at goal shoot and goal keep – opposite ends of the court!

Our next match is this Saturday, 24 August at 10.10am against St Brigids Silver.  Please be there at9.40am, usual place, for the warm up.

Captain this week will be Sharmani.

Those that have indicated they want a turn shooting in our last two remaining matches, practice, practice, practice!!

See you Friday.
