Netball Update - Saturday, 3 August

Great weather for netball on Saturday and good to see the girls keen to get back into it after the break over the holidays.

We faced Thorndon Black again for the third time this season and this game was another hard fought match against them.  Saturday saw some superb defence from the Amesbury Ferns, making it hard for Thorndon to get the ball into their shooters.  Thorndon's defence was awesome also and each team restricted the number of shots the other team was able to put up.  In the end though it was Thorndon's day with 3-1 win.

Player of the Day went to Phoebe for her great defence in the Goal Keep position, some great pressure applied to the Thorndon shooters, well done.  Sharmani looked as if she had been playing netball all season - who would've thought it was her first full game! Fantastic defence Sharmani with lots of intercepts - a well deserved Magic Moment award.

All the Amesbury Ferns should be proud of how much they've improved this season. Everyone of them has come a long way.

Thanks to Lisa for coming to watch the girls. They enjoyed having you there.

Next game is Saturday 10 August at 10.10am against the Khandallah Supernovas.

See you at practice Friday.
