REGULAR CLASS SPOTLIGHT – CREATIVE EXPRESSIONS Mondays (Term Time Only) 1.30 – 3.30pm
Daphne, Anne and Rosie are back for 2015 with Monday afternoon Creative Expressions, starting from 1.30pm on Monday 16th February. This term we will be doing foundation piecing, making a “schoolhouse” block. Rosie won’t be joining us until the end of February and she has some ideas for making woollen jerseys for toddlers plus a few throws. She says it’s time for us to go on to something bigger and she has a wonderful pattern for a jersey that you could use for an adult – sounds very interesting!
We are a group who enjoys each other's company and the sharing of ideas and experiences and all crafters are welcome, no matter your level of experience. Please phone Daphne if you would like to join the group for this term on 977 2055.
ON NEXT WEEK - For further information and bookings on all classes, contact me at the Centre: 830 4802 or Beckie.duffy@wcc.govt.nz, unless otherwise stated.
·         ** Churton Park Photography Club ** - The group meets on the third Tuesday of every month to share their work and support their growth as photographers. All new members are welcome, regardless of your experience. Annual fee is $40 to cover venue hire. This month’s assignment was CLOUDS. It will be interesting to see where people will take this theme without having many clouds around lately! As always the group will be sharing a favourite photo from the month and sharing some before and after edited images to show off some tricks. This month’s meeting is on Tuesday 17th February at 7.30pm.
·         ** Chinese New Year Celebrations ** - 新年快! We’ll be celebrating Chinese New Year at the Centre this year with a shared lunch and free tai chi and table tennis sessions. Join us on Thursday 19th February from 11 – 1pm and please bring a plate of food to share.
·         ** Thursday Walking Group **– Meet at the Community Centre for a 7pm sharp departure. This week, if the sun is shining we’ll go up Winsley Terrace, over the new development to McLintock Street and up over the hills until we get to the Truscott Ave turn off.  This will take us past a cave where you can check out the spiders and any wetas, then we'll head down to Johnsonville and home.  The walk will take about 2 hours at a medium pace so if it is a bit windy then do bring a jacket.  All new members are welcome. Contact Vicky if you’d like more information: 022 351 7008.
·         ** Social English ** - A quick reminder that our popular Social English group re-starts this Friday at 10am. Come along for friendly conversation and a chance to practice your English. Just $2 to join in.
·         ** Chinese Library Collection via CPCC ** - we will have a selection of Chinese language books available at CPCC for borrowing. This service will be available to anyone with a Wellington City Libraries Card. You will be able to borrow books for 3 weeks and books can be returned either to CPCC or Johnsonville Library.

·         ** S.I.M.P.L.E   AWARENESS ** - Alternate Monday evenings 7.30pm to 9pm. Free introductory session on Monday 23rd Feb 2015. In ancient times people lived in harmony with nature, listened to the ebb and flow of the energies, saw the signs and connected to their inner counsel.  The “Wise Ones” were only those who had fully embraced their awareness. The teaching of S.I.M.P.L.E   AWARENESS has been lost over the course of time, and it is now time for individuals to reconnect to the Awareness of our ancient ones to become their own “Wise One”. S.I.M.P.L.E   AWARENESS allows an individual to gain a new direction, perspective, harmony and clarity in their life and become a catalyst for change in an individual’s life, by going places they never thought possible previously.  S~ Synchronicity - I ~ Intuition - M ~ Meditation - P ~Perspective - L ~ “Life” - E ~ Empowerment. For more information and to register please contact Yvonne on phone 280 7831 or 021 0848 7200.
