Farewell Matt

image

Sadly, we will be farewelling one of our wonderful foundation staff members, Matt Ives, at the end of this term.

Matt is off on an exciting adventure with his family. He will be leaving Amesbury School at the end of this term, after being part of our school whanau for nearly four years. Matt started as a beginning teacher with us when we opened in 2012, and we have loved learning with him.

Matt, his wife, Jenna, and son, Charlie, will be heading to China to be closer to Jenna's family. Matt will be working there as an ICT leader in an international school. We will miss him terribly, but we wish them all the very best on their exciting journey.  Along with his amazing teaching skills and tremendous IT knowledge, Matt will be particularly missed for his game show host voice, fab guitar skills and creative leaving songs (a new one every year). We will also miss Jenna's wonderfully tasty bread, biscuits and treats!

Although we will be extremely sad to see Matt go, it will be lovely to have Andrea, back from her maternity leave,  join us again in Harakeke Hub. She will be taking over Matt's groups at the start of Term 3. We are also very happy to have Claire stay in Harakeke Hub with us until the end of the year. Claire will be working for four days a week, from Monday-Thursday. Urs will then work in the hub every Friday, taking Claire's groups.

Thankfully we still have the rest of this term with Matt - make the most of him while you can!
