Track Building Working Bee - Sat 10th October at 10am.

Are you free for a few hours on Saturday and want to help us finish the track through the harakeke bushes?

There is about 2 hours of work left to finish the track that a group of students started as their elective in term 3.  First we need to clear the track a little more and level it. Then we'll cover the track with a type of gravel to make it hard wearing. We'll meet in between the two hubs on the concrete area at 10am on Saturday morning. I am hoping we'll be done by lunch.

Track clearing and prep is pretty simple. Some more harakeke needs to be trimmed back (using secateurs or clippers) and then the path raked out to be level. After that we will need to wheelbarrow the gravel around and rake this out to level it.

Tools that would be helpful to bring if you have them: Clippers, secateurs, rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows. I highly recommend you wear work/gardening gloves as well.

If you are interested in helping or have any questions - please email lisa@amesbury.school.nz so that I can communicate with everyone (should we need to postpone etc). If you have a trailer that we could use to pick up some gravel, please email me and let me know.  The track needs to be compacted at some point as well. If you own or have access to compactor (and can use it!) please also let me know.

Regards

Lisa
