Movin' March is coming up!

image

Throughout March students are encouraged to walk, scoot or bike to school, so get moving!

Greater Wellington Regional Council is running Movin' March again this year - a month-long celebration to promote safe and active travel and address congestion and safety issues around the school gate. All students across the wider Wellington region are encouraged to walk, cycle, scoot or even dance to school to celebrate all the great things about making the journey to school an active one.

At Amesbury we will be running the WOW challenge throughout March. Students will be given 'passport' cards to keep in their tote trays. Every day they walk, cycle or scoot to school they can have their passport stamped. Each time a passport is completed they can hand it in to teachers. At the end of March all completed passports will be sent off to Greater Wellington Regional Council. Students will then go into a draw to win one of six Avanti bike and helmet sets, and the top three schools with the highest percentage of completed passport cards will also win a prize pack.

So, get moving! Have fun walking, cycling or scooting to school.

Warm regards,

The Amesbury Team
