School Notices - 31 January

School noticesSchool notices — by pixabay.com

Welcome to all our new and returning students, whanau and staff. We trust you've had a relaxing holiday period. Here are some things you may need to know as the school year begins...

Amesbury School Information

You can expect to receive an email with school notices from us every Wednesday.

Our website is an excellent place to start for all sorts of information. You can find school notices, and news articles on recent events and school life.

If you would prefer to get notification each time we post news or notices, just enter your email (on the right hand side of the homepage) of the school blog. Alternatively if it works better for you to sit with a cuppa in the weekend and read everything in one go, then we email a Digest (e-newsletter) to provide you with a fortnightly summary of our school communications.

Our school app is available for your phone and is a good one-stop spot for notices, alerts, important links and more. Search "Amesbury" in your app store: Apple App Store or Google Play. It is free to download.

The School Info link also has some handy information - including an "A to Z" and information on out of school care.

School Events Calendar

For all our upcoming events, check out the school events page. This is regularly updated throughout the year, so sync it with your calendar or remember to check in regularly.

Mark the Date

Our next event is our Pōwhiri on Monday 12th February and then our "Meet the Teacher" Community Evening on Wednesday 14th February. More details to come.

Staff in 2018

You can find us all here on the staff page, including our email addresses.

Co-curricular Lessons

Classes start next week. We are now fully booked for this term. If you are interested in your child picking up a class, get in touch with us and we will waitlist your child for next term.

Carpark and crossing safety

Keeping everyone safe as we arrive and leave school is a priority. Please ensure that students who are walking, cycling or scootering to school use the pedestrian crossing on Amesbury Drive.

Please also take the time to read our carpark safety procedures regarding drop off and pickup processes.

Lunch Orders

We have a great range of lunch orders available. See our lunch order page here, and find links to order here as well.

School Uniform & Sunhats

New school uniform items can be purchased from the School Shop.

Please note: students are required to wear sunhats when outside during Terms 1 and 4. This includes during all breaks and while outside playing sport. Children without sunhats have designated shaded areas to sit in during breaks. Sunhats are $15.00 and must be ordered through the School Shop.

Making payments to Amesbury School

You can view and pay for your child’s school needs through our School Shop. Click here to shop or pay school expenses anytime, anywhere.

School Swimming

Swimming lessons will take place this year as follows:

  • Harakeke Hub swimming on Tuesdays in T2 (Keith Spry and Johnsonville School Pool);
  • Koru Hub swimming on Fridays in T3 (Johnsonville School Pool);
  • Te Rito swimming on Tuesdays in T3 (Johnsonville School Pool).
Please note that an assessment day will take place on Thursday, 8th March.

All hubs are using Easy Swim instructors (not Keith Spry instructors), travelling by bus and prices will be confirmed towards the end of this term.
