Upcoming Strike

The School will be closed on the 16th of November because teachers are taking strike action. You will need to make arrangement for the care of your children on that day. 

Kapa Haka & Choir parents

Amaria sent an email to all the children in the Kapa Haka and Choir, last week. If you did not receive this email, could you please email Amaria on amaria@amesbury.school.nz. If you did receive this email and haven't filled in the form, could you do this as soon as possible please.


Northern Zone Athletics - Monday, 5 November

Parents of students who are competing in the upcoming Northern Zone competition have been emailed directly with details of the day's activities. Please read Demelza's email and let her know if you are able to assist with parent help. 

Upcoming Diwali Festival

Here comes the fantastic Indian Diwali Festival! This year, it runs from 05 November to 09 November. We will be celebrating Diwali as a whole school. There is a lot to plan and we would appreciate parent help to organise the events. Please see all the information here and if you are interested in participating and/or helping out as a parent helper for any of the listed activities, please register with Sonali: sonali@amesbury.school.nz. 

Term 4 Learning Celebration - Friday, 23 November, 1.40pm

Please plan to join us for our musical celebration on Friday, 23 November at 1.40pm.  A variety of our students will be showcasing their musical talents. You will see the following in action: choir, kapa haka,school band together with our  a range of our keyboard, violin, ukelele, guitar, drums, gymnastics and speech and drama students. Please plan to join us, and then stay on for our Bike Track Opening (details below). 

Official Bike Track Opening - Friday, 23 November, 3.30pm


We are excited to invite you to our "Official" Bike Track Opening on Friday, 23 November at 3:30pm, after our Term 4 Learning Celebration. There will be a 'best dressed bike' parade. Please see the attached flyer for more details.  Mayor Justin Lester will be cutting the ribbon, there will a sausage sizzle and plenty of biking fun. Please come along and join in the fun!       


We would really appreciate parent helpers to assist with the sausage sizzle. Please let Rachel at Reception if you are able to help.

Lunch orders

Don't get forget that we offer a lunch order service on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Please see our website here for all the information on how to order.  You are welcome to set up recurring weekly orders if this is convenient.  

Christmas Parade Request


The Amesbury School Kapa Haka and Choir will be part of the Johnsonville Christmas Parade on the 1st December 2018. We are wondering if anyone has an inverter generator that can be used to plug in 4 microphones. Also, do you know someone who has a flat deck truck who is willing to part of the parade too? Please email Amaria (amaria@amesbury.school.nz) if you are able to help source either the inverter generator or flat deck truck.


Scouts NZ Johnsonville Scouts are currently looking for new members and welcome Children Age 6-10 that want to join Keas (6-8) and Cubs (8-10) sections. If you are interested, please contact the Group Leader Johann Weich via email scoutsjville@gmail.com.The Scout hall is located at 30 Ironside road: Keas (ages 6-8) Thursday; Cubs (ages 8-10 1/2 ) Monday / Tuesday. We have a free trial period of up to three weeks and would love to have new members come along and give it a try. Please Note: Our scout section (ages10.5 -14) is currently oversubscribed, but we do add potential youth members to a waiting list for when vacancies occur.
