BOT Elections 'Meet the Candidates' - 7pm Thursday 30 May

At the close of nominations on Friday, eight candidates had been nominated for the five positions available. As a result an election will take place.

Early this coming week voting papers, together with a booklet with each candidate's statement, will be posted out to all eligible voters. Voting closes at noon on Friday 7 June.

In the meantime, a "Meet the Candidates" session will be held this Thursday evening at 7pm (30 May). Each candidate will be given a few minutes to talk about themselves. There will be panel questions and then the floor will be opened for questions. This meeting will happen in Mawhero (through the library and the first suite on the left in Harakeke Hub).

Full Evacuation and Pick-up Drill - Friday 31 May

Just a reminder about the full evacuation and pick-up drill to be held by the school next Friday, 31 May, so that you can make whatever preparations you need to. Please read the article for all the details.

New Uniform Delays

Just a reminder too that there is a delay with our production orders for the turquoise, gold and orange polo tops. If the size/colour you want is currently sold out, you can still place an order and Rachel will let you know as soon as this new stock comes in (expected to be the end of June). Our apologies for any inconvenience.

Absence due to sickness

It is helpful and important for us to know if students and staff are away for a period of time due to any notifiable or contagious medical condition. If you are using the website/app absence form for this reason, please select 'Other' and then add a comment in the 'Reason' field, or let Rachel at the office know.

Note: Influenza is more than just a ‘bad cold’. Although some of the symptoms are the same, influenza is usually much more severe. Symptoms of influenza include a cough, headache, fever or chills, body aches and pains, fatigue and generally feeling miserable.

Lost and Found

Have you seen? We're missing one of our pink 'keep-cups' that the Road Patrollers use for their milos.

Are you missing? Attached photos of; swimming gear, uniform, miscellaneous items. There are also Pokemon cards, a large bag full of of un-named black long sleeved tops/leggings, and a box of 'washed' single/paired socks.

Community Notices

Bootcamp for the Breast Cancer Foundation ‘Pink’ appeal

One of our Amesbury parents, Belinda, runs a Bootcamp on the school grounds twice a week.

Next Saturday, 1 June, she is hosting a fundraiser Bootcamp for the Breast Cancer Foundation ‘Pink’ appeal. In lieu of Bootcamp fees, anyone attending can give a donation to this amazing cause. Belinda will also be supplying treats for everyone that comes.

The Bootcamp will be at the usual Saturday time of 7am and is suitable for all levels of fitness. The session will be 45 minutes long. Not only does it give parents the opportunity to contribute to this worthy cause, it also enables parents in the community an opportunity to meet each other and exercise at the same time!

Belinda has a Facebook page called Beazer Bootcamp:
