Maire Inquiry Trip

image

As part of our Term 3 science inquiry ‘Living for a Protected New Zealand’ around our native flora and fauna, Maire's Inquiry Trip will be split into two groups going on either Tuesday 20th or Thursday 22nd August.

Kia ora, whānau,

As part of our Term 3 science inquiry ‘Living for a Protected New Zealand’ around our native flora and fauna, all Amesbury students will be going on trips this term. Maire students will be visiting Otari-Wilton’s bush and Zealandia to investigate and learn about the beautiful wildlife native to Aotearoa. These trips will be on Tuesday 20th or Thursday 22nd August, depending on which core group your child is in. Please see this document to check which day your child is going on the trip.

Students will need to be at school at 8:30am, ready to leave on the bus at 9:00am to make it to our locations in time. We are aiming to return to school by 3:00pm.

The cost for the trip will be $16.50 per child. Parents will be invoiced for the cost of the trip through their school account. All students will need to wear school uniform for the trip, and we strongly recommend that they have a named drink bottle in their bag. Students will need a well-stocked lunch box, as trip days tend to make children really hungry and the day will involve not one, but two lengthy walks. Please do not order a lunch order for your child as we will not be at school at lunchtime.

What to bring:

School bag, water bottle, lunchbox, fleece and a raincoat. Please dress for the changeable weather as we will be walking outside for most of the day. You must be wearing comfortable walking shoes.

We have a number of free adult places for this trip and we would love to have whānau joining us as additional support for our learners. Please contact Andy (andy@amesbury.school.nz) if you are able to support us on what we are expecting will be an exciting and educational day. Please be aware that if we are unable to get enough parent support, we will be unable to go ahead with the trip. We thank you in advance for your time - it is appreciated.

If you have any questions about the trip, please contact Andy andy@amesbury.school.nz. We are looking forward to an exciting trip.

Ngā mihi nui,

Te whanau o Maire
