It's the last week of Term 3! So here's what you need to know for this week, a list of things to do over the holidays, and information for the start of Term 4 ....

Everyone should have their times booked in for this week's student/parent/teacher conferences which take place on Wednesday and Thursday. If you haven't then you have until 8am this Wednesday (25 Sept) to do so.

Learning Celebration
Our Term 3 Learning Celebration is on this Friday (27 Sept) at 1.50pm. Mark it in your calendars.
Apart from the presentation of 4 Amesbury Awesomeness Awards, the winners of the Amesbury Speech Competition will present their winning speeches, plus we will be treated to various performances and presentations from your super talented kids.
Bouncy Castle at Amesbury
Next Wednesday the 25th of September, Kelly Club Amesbury will be have an inflatable bouncy castle at Amesbury during 'afterschool' time.
The cost of entry onto the bouncy castle is a gold coin donation, with all proceeds going to 'Cure Kids' as part of Red Nose Day. Cure Kids works to enable high-impact, New Zealand-based medical research to help save, extend and improve the lives of children diagnosed with serious life-impacting and life-limiting health conditions.
The bouncy castle will be open to all children at the school from 3pm - 3.45pm, and then for Kelly Club kids from 3.45 - onwards.
It would be great to raise some money to go towards what is an amazing cause.
Holiday Ideas
NZ Self-Defence Academy
The Krav Maga self-defence system provides kids (and adults) with non-violent ways to deal with bullying and violence.
Working with their parents and fellows, kids will learn unique life-saving and problem-solving skills which they can apply throughout their life. It’s also a very fun way to make new friends, work in a team and improve overall fitness and health.
This is the first time that we are running a self-defence workshop for our awesome kids in New Zealand!
This workshop will be suitable for ages 6 to 9, and is meant as an introduction to our upcoming kids weekly classes. Details, including a session in Johnsonville, can be found on our website: https://www.selfdefenceacademy.co.nz/.

The Greater Wellington Regional Council is currently advertising the above position. It’s 30 hours a week, with school holidays off so could be ideal for a parent.

UNICEF Tamariki Walk
The Tamariki Walk is now going to be held on the 22nd September this Sunday! (Previously scheduled for last weekend).It will be held at Boyd Wilson starting at 11:30. There will be a bake sale with sweets and savouries as well as a raffle. Email us ( https://forms.gle/TUASabZ9PoEfFz879 to register for the event and the raffle.
Bring a form of weights to make the walk a bit more challenging and fun! (suitcase, chair, mattress etc). This will also symbolise the struggle children go through to access water. All the proceeds from the bake sale and the raffle will be going to UNICEF's efforts to increase many countries access to water.
