Year 5 & 6 Camp Update #1

Kia ora whanau,

We are all having a great time here at camp. Yesterday we spent most of the day travelling. After 3 1/2 hours travelling by ferry (which was pretty calm really), we then spent another 3 hours travelling by bus. Needless to say, everyone was extremely pleased when we finally pulled in to Teapot Valley. We settled into our cabins and then spent the evening in teams completing a massive word find and a crossword puzzle. The excitement was extremely high as we sent students off to bed last night.

Today we spent doing activities around camp. Because of the persistent rain, we made some slight changes to the programme, but nothing major. Students particularly enjoyed the rock climbing wall and crate stacking (see pictures below for more information). They were also very excited when the sun came out and they could go into the pool, on the zipline and on the mega bounce. They are currently playing 'Eat Poop You Cat' (which is like Chinese whispers but uses drawing and writing). Ask your child to share their crazy books with you.

The weather for tomorrow is looking pretty good so we are all amped about the Abel Tasman National Park walk. We'll flick through another post tomorrow night with some pictures from our walk.

Kind regards,

Lisa, Demelza, Andy, Kalesha and Amaria
