Wetlands Planting Working Bee 27 June 2014

On 27th June we are having our first school community working bee. To save money that has already been budgeted towards this project so that it can be spent on other developments (specifically the senior playground), we are having a working bee to plant the wetlands area and a new native bush area. The Wellington City Council has very kindly donated all the plants, mulch and will provide us with 100 shovels for the working bee.

We have about 400 plants to be planted and we will need YOU to provide the muscle power. Children will also be involved in the working bee, but most of them will need adults to dig the holes.

The working bee will run from 1 - 5pm (until dark) on Friday 27 June. It would be great to see as many people involved as possible.

I feel a bit out of my depth with this project - not being a gardener. Are there any keen gardeners out there who would like to help co-ordinate this effort? Please contact me if you are interested. Our landscape architect will lay out all the plants so that we will know exactly where each plant needs to go.
