Calling all would-be stall holders!

Amesbury International Festival
Calling all would-be stall holders!  Would you like to hold a stall for the inaugural Amesbury International Festival?  We are very keen to have a wide range of stalls at our Gala Day on Saturday 1 December, from 2:00pm.  Anything goes: arts and crafts, cakes, food, second hand items, cultural food/wares, games, clothing, you name it...

Our stall holders fees are extremely reasonable:
$20 - site hire, bring your own table
$30 - site hire and table hire for a non-food stall
$40 - site hire and table hire for a food stall

All profits from the stall can go directly to the stall holders.

If you are interested, we would LOVE to hear from you.  Perhaps you could band together with friends to run a joint stall?

Alternatively, if you don't wish to organise a stall but you are willing to help out with one, we would love to hear from you too.

Please email fiona.white@amesbury.school.nz or crisanna.nel@amesbury.school.nz if you are keen.

Only 5 weeks to go!

Kelly Sports at Amesbury School - Term 4

Kelly Sports will be starting back at Amesbury School this Friday to run the Term 4 after school sports sessions
FUN FUNDAMENTALS (Yr1-3) is a great way to challenge and improve your child’s motor skills and co-ordination within a FUN environment. We aim to develop & enhance ball skills, catching, kicking, throwing, co-operative skills and teamwork while improving strength, flexibility, hand/eye co-ordination and spatial awareness. It is the best way to learn but above all we aim to have fun! This programme will be run on Friday afterschool from 3:05pm – 4:05pm.

SPRING SUPERSTARS (Yr4-6) Come and try Football, Tennis, Basketball and Cricket. Learn skills and improve ability, try 2 weeks each of these sports. We use games, drills and exercises to teach game sense and team play. It’s a great way to try new sports, improve old skills or maintain fitness – all while having a great time! Wellington Rocks!

Community Evening with Rhythm Interactive

Kia ora koutou

Next week, Thursday 1 November at 5.30pm, we have our final community evening of the year. Rhythm Interactive is coming to entertain us in an interactive drumming show. They will be bringing 200 or so drums with them. Below I have attached a couple of links to Youtube clips that will give you an idea of what to expect. I experienced their show at a conference opening and enjoyed it so much that I booked them for this final community evening of the foundation year of the school.

The show will begin at 5.30pm - please be on time. After the show a programme of activities will be organised for the children by Kelly Sport while parents engage in a round robin of consultation and discussions about Amesbury School, education, the future etc. We have a number of matters we need your views on - particularly as we develop our school Charter for next year.

Food will be provided in the form of Pizza - which we will have delivered from Dominoes. We are hoping parents will provide a koha to help towards the cost of the refreshments.

This is an important event in the life of the school. We would be thrilled if you could all make it. It will be a great event that I am sure the whole family will enjoy.

Any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Gail or myself

Zoe's Ambulance Trip

Zoe had a rather exciting breakfast this morning - ice blocks in hospital.  She had a bout of croup and was having problems breathing properly.  Nevertheless, she was very keen to have her photo taken in the ambulance bay.  Zoe wants all her friends at school to know that she is OK and she'll be back to school soon!
