Amesbury School Partnership and Projects Team

The establishment of the Amesbury School Partnership and Projects Team (“the PPT”) provides you with the opportunity to be involved with Amesbury School in as large or as small a capacity as you desire and/or are able to.

The purpose of the PPT is to provide a vehicle through which parents, families and friends of our school can be involved in supporting and contributing to Amesbury School. The idea behind this is that such support and contribution should be enabled in a broad range of ways. In addition, we do not want parents to feel over-burdened by a “committee-type” structure and the intention is that you can give as much of your time and energy as you are comfortable with at any given time.

The PPT Co-ordinating Group has the role of assisting and facilitating the initiation and completion of successful projects. This group consists of a staff representative (Lesley Murrihy), a BOT representative (Lorraine Walmsley) and four parent representatives, Debbie Dunbar, Rachel Watson, Jo Lockery and Rebecca Laracy

The Co-ordinating Group has come up with five strands of involvement within which projects could take place. Currently those strands are as follows:
  • Fundraising
  • Education focus
  • Community/culture
  • Volunteers
  • Environmental
See diagram below. These strands do not represent an exhaustive list so if you have any other ideas on possible ‘strands’ of involvement please let us know. The PPT Co-ordinating Group will be meeting again in September and we would be keen to hear any ideas you may have about possible projects, or simply have a discussion with you about how the PPT will work. Some of the projects we are currently thinking about include next steps development of the school grounds, year six school leavers celebration, student scholarships etc, Please feel free to have a chat with any of the Co-ordinating Group – it would be great to get your feedback and thoughts.
