Welcome Back

Kia ora koutou

I hope you all had a really lovely, relaxing holiday. I travelled around the East Coast with my family and enjoyed the stunning beaches and lovely warm weather. Towards the end of the holidays, John and I went to Castlepoint Beach and enjoyed a very relaxing time walking the beach, clambering on rocks, reading novels, watching movies and eating. Cooking for only two people is such a blast!

Welcome back to 2014 at Amesbury School. We are really looking forward to catching up with you and your children on Monday. We have a very exciting year planned - some wonderful inquiries which will coincide with national and world happenings such as the commemoration of the beginning of World War 1 and NZ elections. We plan to have an art exhibition and auction as well as an artist-in-residence. I am really looking forward to teaching war poetry in term 2!

We are really impressed with the team we have for the year - such amazing and diverse skills. I am continually humbled by the capability of the staff I work with.

We have a number of new students starting on Monday so we will have a powhiri to welcome them and their families at 2.30pm on Monday afternoon. Please feel free to attend.

We will put out an Amesbury Digest early in the week with all the information you will need. The dates for the year have been sorted and will go up on the school calendar early next week. To avoid confusion this will be where all school dates are put and it will be kept up to date. I suggest you link the school calendar with your own google calendar so that you have easy access to all the dates. Please feel free to see one of us if you need help accomplishing this
